How the score works
Reading 30%, numeracy 30%, writing 20%, spelling 10%, grammar and punctuation 10%. Results are standardised within each year level and domain across supplied schools, then averaged with equal weight per year level and converted to a 0–100 normal-CDF index.
A year level needs at least 80% of domain weight to contribute. Suppressed data stays missing. Coverage refers to supplied year levels. Ranks compare the supplied result set, not all Australian schools. NAPLAN achievement is one aspect of a school, not an overall quality measure.
